The ILO describes workplace improvements at Vietnam's Nguyen Phuc Mechanical Joint Stock Company after SCORE training. Producing boilers, machinery and industrial equipment, the firm had faced customer-confidence issues linked to production organization and quality.
The company formed improvement teams involving managers, operations staff, engineers and frontline workers to identify process problems. Workshop organization, production scheduling and internal coordination turned manager-led demands into ongoing collective action.
These changes predated the pandemic. The case suggests that established efficiency, quality and workplace practices helped ease later pressures, illustrating how organisational cooperation can strengthen SME resilience.
