Vietnam launches agricultural sector skills council to advance collaborative capacity building

The agricultural sector skills council brings together business, government, education and worker representatives to coordinate skill needs.

Viet Nam’s agricultural Sector Skills Council launched in Hanoi on 15 November 2019, established by MOLISA. Its launch formed part of the Viet Nam skills-upgrading forum.

The Council initially had 21 members, adjustable during a three-year pilot. Enterprises, industry groups, government, agricultural institutions and worker representatives participated, with responsibilities clarified at launch.

Sector coordination connects skill demand with training supply. Firms articulate job requirements while institutions and authorities discuss training and support, establishing continuing dialogue to reduce gaps.
