Vietnam's textile and garment sector holds dialogue on future skills needs

Technical exchanges in Hai Phong and Ho Chi Minh City connect recruitment needs, industry changes and training design.

Technical exchanges on textile and garment skills took place in Hai Phong and Ho Chi Minh City in March and April 2024. Using the ILO's STED method, sector dialogue identified current and future skills gaps.

The exchange brings together businesses of different sizes, government, worker and employer organizations, training providers and researchers. Linking talent needs to industrial change helps training respond earlier. The work supports Vietnam's 2021–2030 vocational education direction and connects skills with productivity and sustainable growth.
