Vietnamese business safety initiative integrates risk prevention into daily production management

Ho Chi Minh City's enterprise safety review highlights training, onsite consulting and periodic reviews as practical tools for risk management.

On 17 January 2020 in Ho Chi Minh City, ILO SCORE and VCCI's city branch reviewed the '100 Days Without Accidents' campaign. More than 60 businesses, organizations and associations participated, exploring safety and productivity in wood products and supporting industries.

The initiative trained 160 factory safety staff through training, workshops and site advice on hazards and fire safety; nine enterprises updated occupational safety and health policies.

Participating firms reviewed safety weekly, examined incident points and invited staff suggestions. These practices embed safety in regular checking, feedback and improvement, involving frontline workers in risk management.
