Vietnam 2035 report calls for higher productivity and stronger modern governance

A joint Vietnamese government–World Bank long-term development report includes private-sector competitiveness, innovation and modern governance in reform priorities.

On 23 February 2016, Vietnam's government and the World Bank jointly launched 'Vietnam 2035', examining the next twenty years. It highlights a competitive private sector, efficient urbanization, innovation and reforms using new trade opportunities.

The report stresses that economic expansion must accompany productivity growth. Fair competition, property rights and effectively enforced rules help resources reach more productive organizations.

The report also addresses modern governance, linking institutions with economic transformation. It provides policy context for managers considering Vietnam's long-term environment, organizational capabilities and innovation investment.
