Where names, organisations, responsibilities or contacts differ in member records relating to 2017, the person concerned or an authorised handler may prepare an explanation. The purpose is to check particular records. Changed current information does not automatically make historical records wrong, and correction does not itself alter membership category or eligibility.
Locate the difference
Identify the document, date and field, stating the original entry and proposed position separately. Distinguish entry errors, later changes in circumstances and differences in reporting scope. If complete records are unavailable, submit an issue description and existing evidence with an explanation of the gap. Nonexistent original evidence need not be supplied.
Provide relevant support
Use existing change records for names or organisations; for contacts, explain a valid new channel and feasible verification. Responsibilities should, where possible, correspond to contemporary assignments or appointment records. Evidence supports only the facts it can establish. One correction request does not validate all other historical entries, and unrelated personal information is unnecessary.
Confirm scope and preserve records
Consult the current receipt channel and identify the precise changes requested. The Office records completed corrections, unconfirmed portions and reasons according to findings. Where clarification from the original provider is needed, the required scope will be communicated. Retain the original, correction explanation and actual processing date; subsequent public or third-party use should follow the confirmed version.
