Capacity-building program supports digital and green transitions among Vietnam's SMEs

Training for enterprise support organisations and consultants links productivity improvement with digital and green transition.

From March to June 2026, the Enterprise Support Center under Vietnam's Ministry of Finance Agency for Private Enterprise Development (APED) partnered with the ILO to build capacity among SME support organizations and business consultants. Training linked productivity with digital and green transitions, covering program design, advisory services and workplace improvements.

Activities involved 267 government, industry and enterprise representatives. Another 58 consultants took five days of advanced training combining ILO SCORE methods with digital and green tools, emphasising employee participation and working conditions for sustainable operations.

Twenty-six consultants subsequently provided tailored services to 30 firms. Work covered production monitoring, resource planning, energy and materials, 5S and occupational safety, translating classroom learning into practical workplace improvements.
